Minnedosa Rodeo
Amanda Woychyshyn from the Minnedosa Rodeo Association was presented with a cheque to assist with the relocation of their outdoor arena at the new Ag. Grounds. Thanks to their hard work the Rodeo has become a very popular annual event in Minnedosa.
Minnedosa Curling Club
The Minnedosa Foundation was pleased to grant funds to the Minnedosa Curling Club to help purchase new scoreboards for our local curling Club. Colleen McNabb, President of Curling Club Inc. receives funds from foundation treasurer, Jean Garbolinsky .
Minor Baseball – $ 34,000 since 2011
Minnedosa Minor Baseball has built two new diamonds, and renovated/improved the senior diamond which was recently dedicated and named the Glennis Scott Field. In 2016/17, a grant of $6,000 will fund the installation of a new digital scoreboard at the Glennis Scott field and help with ongoing maintenance of the batting cage.
MREC – $75,000 since 2010
The Minnedosa Regional Event Centre will house a full size ice hockey surface, 10 dressing rooms, a canteen, public washrooms, a multi-purpose room, a class room, and the Minnedosa Fitness Centre Cooperative. It will be a fantastic addition to our community, bringing athletes, tournaments, and opportunity for hosting major sport and special events.The Minnedosa Regional Event Centre will incorporate four ball fields and soccer & rugby pitches into the landscape design.
River’s Edge Park Development – $9,000 since 2012
The idea for River’s Edge Recreation Park came about in 2012, with the park unveiled in the fall of 2014. River’s Edge Park is just north of the Tanner’s Crossing School soccer fields, and provides a bike park, walking trail and off-lease dog park to community members.
Youth Soccer Association – $33,500 since 2011
Youth soccer runs each year from April to June. The association maintains fields for teams to play on — two at Tanner’s Crossing School, one at Minnedosa Collegiate, one at Minnedosa Beach and a new one at the MREC site.
